The "bench" tests of the new Russian fifth-generation single-engine fighter Cy-75 Chess are about to begin, announced the general director of "Postex" Sergej Chemezov, reports "Kommersant".
Πri tests "on the bench" are static tests, in order to test the main components, to guarantee that they can withstand extreme loads, vibrations and temperatures, without damage. For example, takeoff, flight, and landing cycles are often simulated to ensure that the material will withstand years of use.
"Developing a new fighter jet takes a long time - on average 10 to 15 years. "We are practicing at a stage before (test) flight," he said.
According to Chemezov, the new fighter will be sought abroad, as it will be relatively cheap and will have sufficient weapons to destroy both air and ground targets. According to the head of "Postex", from the point of view of efficiency, price and quality, the aircraft will be a pretty good choice.
The fighter was first officially presented in July 2021 during the MAKS-2021 air show. Chemezov then noted that the fighter jet was being developed without state funding and was primarily aimed at exports abroad.
It was also announced at the time that the Cheskemet would be capable of sustained supersonic flight and was capable of hitting up to six air, sea and ground targets. ΠIt is planned to produce an unmanned version in the future. The Sekmate will be able to carry the entire armament of the Cy-57 fighter, which is intended for the Russian market.
