The Israeli army today carried out airstrikes against "military targets" of the Lebanese Shiite movement "Hezbollah" in southern Lebanon after a drone strike earlier in the day killed one person and wounded several others, including students on a bus, the Associated Press reported, quoted by BTA.

The new wave of strikes came amid escalating tensions between Israel and the armed group.

An airstrike yesterday killed 13 people in the Ain al-Hilaweh Palestinian refugee camp - the deadliest Israeli attack since a ceasefire in the war between Israel and "Hezbollah" came into effect a year ago.

The Israeli army warned this afternoon that it would strike targets in several villages in southern Lebanon, calling them “Hezbollah“ sites, and urged people there to evacuate. More than an hour later, strikes began in the villages of Shehour and Deir Kifa. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

Earlier today, an Israeli airstrike on a car in the southern Lebanese village of Tiri killed one person and wounded 11 others, including students on a bus, the Lebanese Health Ministry and state media reported.

The state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported that a school bus was passing near the car when it was hit. The bus driver and several students were injured.
