Ukraine has received the bodies of 1,000 of its killed soldiers from Russia, the Ukrainian Prisoners of War Coordination Center reported today, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.

“Investigators from law enforcement agencies, together with specialized units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will soon carry out all necessary procedures and identify the returned bodies“, the Center stated in a post on Telegram.

Kiev and Moscow have carried out numerous exchanges of bodies of killed soldiers during the war, which began with the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Reuters notes.

In the past, Ukraine has accused Russia of returning the bodies indiscriminately, sometimes including the bodies of killed Russian soldiers - a claim Moscow denies.
