Mickoski laments the Macedonians from the Pirin region in Tirana

The Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia and Chairman of the ruling VMRO-DPMNE party Hristijan Mickoski attended the opening of the office of the Association "VMRO-DPMNE Albania" in Tirana, the party headquarters in Skopje reported.

„I emphasized to those present the possibility for Macedonians in Albania to have their own club, the opportunity to associate, the opportunity to work freely to preserve their culture, identity, language and tradition, an opportunity that the Macedonians in the Pirin region of Bulgaria do not have, who in the 21st century are prevented from registering a non-governmental association, cannot speak freely about their Macedonian identity. We are hardworking, patient and smart and I assure you that now or "In the next period we will achieve this goal," Mickoski wrote on his Facebook profile.

In addition, the opening of the office in Tirana was also attended by the party's general secretary, Georgija Saikoski, as well as the chairwoman of the VMRO-DPMNE Women's Union, Jacquelina Pesevska.

In his address, Mickoski stated that he was glad that all those present at the ceremony understood the "centuries-old authentic Macedonian roots and the centuries-old Macedonian identity" and was impressed that "the Macedonian language is being nurtured and preserved."

"The Macedonian state will be a pillar of Macedonians around the world, wherever they are, a state that is their homeland, a state that awaits them with open arms to come home and be together with the Macedonians in Macedonia," he stated. Mickoski.

The Prime Minister of North Macedonia is in Albania to participate in the Western Balkans leaders' summit, entitled “Our Plan for the EU“, which will be held in Tirana. According to the government press office, he will speak at a panel discussion titled “Implementing Joint Commitments, Results and Acceleration“.
