The US sanctions against Russia should come into force today, I hope there is no decision to postpone, as Moscow would like, said the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaia Kallas at a press conference in Brussels, BTA reports.
According to her, the Russian side would also like the EU to postpone the discussion of the issue of providing a loan to Ukraine using the seized Russian property. We will not fall into these two traps, said Kallas.
According to her, everyone wants peace, but it will not be lasting if the aggressor is satisfied, because this will open up space for more aggression. We all want the war to end, but it is important how. This war is a threat to the existence of Europe, Kallas summed up.
Russia has no legal right to demand concessions from a country that has attacked. Ukraine must determine the terms of any agreement. We will continue to support Kiev, Kallas added regarding the US peace plan.
