Romania scrambled fighter jets tonight in response to Russian airstrikes in the southern part of Odessa region, near the state border, reports "Ukrainska Pravda".
Airstrike warnings were issued for villages along the Danube River in Romania.
This morning, the Romanian Defense Ministry announced that on the night of November 21-22, two F-16 fighter jets were scrambled to monitor the airspace near the Ukrainian border in response to another Russian airstrike.
At 01:33 local time, an airstrike warning was issued for airstrikes on villages in northern Tulcea County after Russian combat drones were spotted near the Ukrainian city of Izmail.
The ministry said no violations of Romanian airspace were recorded. The fighters returned to their airbase at 03:42.
"We are in constant contact with our allies, sharing operational information in real time and acting decisively to ensure the security of Romania and NATO's eastern flank," the ministry assured.
