The reaction of the leaders of the European Union to the new American plan for settling the conflict in Ukraine shows that they want to undermine the US's peace efforts and force the Ukrainians to continue military actions against Russia, said Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, emphasizing that such a position of the EU could lead to World War III, TASS reported, quoted by BTA.
„US President Donald Trump is making efforts for peace. We Hungarians support them, and Brussels and the Western Europeans are trying to undermine them," Szijjártó said in a broadcast on the Kossuth radio station.
According to him, there are currently clear differences in the positions of the US and the EU regarding Ukraine: the US administration "starts from reality, adheres to a political strategy based on common sense and wants to end the war," while in Brussels there is still "war psychosis," and Western European politicians "are subject to a crazy belligerent attitude and want to continue the war," Szijjártó noted.
“If the military conflict escalates and a direct clash between NATO and Russia occurs, this will immediately lead to a third world war, which will be nuclear and in which it will be impossible to survive“, the minister warned, noting that this risk could be removed if the EU and Ukraine agreed to the new American peace plan.
