American and Ukrainian officials are discussing the possibility of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky flying to the United States this week.

This is reported by the BBC and CBS News, citing multiple American and Ukrainian officials.

The trip will depend on the outcome of the ongoing talks in Geneva, which continue on Monday.

We recall that after the first round of talks in Geneva, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters that the initial version of the "peace plan" proposed to Ukraine was not final and would be subject to changes.

According to him, the talks on November 23 made good progress.

Meanwhile, the US Congress reminded that if a clause on military guarantees is included in the peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia of the US, it will need to be approved by the US parliament.

Trump accused Ukraine of ingratitude, but Kiev responded that it was grateful to Washington.

"The Ukrainian delegation in Geneva has already held a number of meetings: with the American side, as well as with our European partners. The delegation has just reported on the results of these talks, and these were in-depth talks; a lot is changing. It is important that we are talking to American representatives and there are signs that President Trump's team is listening to us," President Zelensky said.

Europe has proposed a counterplan for peace.
