Kiev fires after drone and missile attack on civilian targets, Moscow strikes energy infrastructure

High-rise building evacuated

Russian drones attacked the Ukrainian capital Kiev overnight. According to "Reuters" civilian infrastructure was hit - fires were caused in at least two residential buildings.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko explained on Telegram that one was a high-rise building evacuated after being hit in the "Pechersk" district in the city center. Klitschko also reported power and water outages in the city.

Timur Tkachenko, head of the military administration of Kiev, said that the other high-rise residential building was hit in an area on the opposite bank of the Dnieper River. Photos from the scene show several burning apartments on the upper floors.

Ukraine's Energy Ministry said the barrage of drones and missiles fired at the capital Kiev overnight was combined with a "massive" attack on energy facilities.

The ministry said restoration work on energy infrastructure would begin as soon as the security situation allowed.
