Russia attacks Ukraine at night with 22 missiles and 460 drones, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced today, quoted by Reuters, BTA reported.

“The main Russian attack at night was directed against the capital and the region (around it), causing extensive damage to residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in the city“, he wrote on the social network “Ex“.

For his part, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga described the Russian strikes on Kiev late last night, in which six people were killed, as a “terrorist reaction“ of the American plan to end the war.

“Putin responded with a terrorist reaction to the peace proposals of the United States and President (Donald) Trump by launching a salvo of missiles and drones against Ukraine“, Sibiga pointed out in “Ex“.

The Ukrainian foreign minister added that Odessa, as well as the Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Kyiv regions, were also hit. Damage was caused to ordinary residential buildings and critical civilian energy infrastructure, which led to power, water and heating outages amid low temperatures in Ukraine, he added.

Sybiga stressed that Ukraine is committed to peace efforts and said that it is necessary to use all available means to force Russia to stop the war.

Six people were injured, including two children, in the night attack in Odessa and the region of the same name, the head of the Odessa regional military administration, Oleg Kiper, reported on his Telegram channel.

“At night, Odessa and the region were subjected to another massive drone attack. Damage was caused to civilian and energy facilities. In some places, fires broke out at port and energy infrastructure facilities, and equipment was damaged,“ Oleg Kiper informed. Emergency services continue to deal with the aftermath of the latest attack.

The Bulgarians in the Odessa region number over 150,000 people and are the third largest in Ukraine according to the latest official census. About 50-60 thousand Bulgarians live in the city of Odessa itself. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in the Bolgrad, Izmail and Belgorod-Dniester regions.
