British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said at the meeting of the “Coalition of the Willing“ that London is “ready to negotiate“ with the European Union to provide financial support to Ukraine, using the value of frozen Russian assets, quoted „Reuters“, reports News.bg.
„This is the best way to show Putin that he needs to negotiate, rather than trying to outdo us, and this is the best way to be ready to support Ukraine in war or peace“, Starmer told the leaders of France, Germany and other European countries during the virtual meeting.
He noted that EU teams were working „around the clock“ on the funding and expected the Union leaders to consider the proposals in the coming weeks, where progress is already being made.
Ukraine has signaled support for the framework of the peace agreement with Russia, but stressed that sensitive issues should be discussed at a meeting between President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump.
