The Director of Turkish Intelligence MIT Ibrahim Kalin, the Director of Egyptian Intelligence Hassan Reshat and the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held a meeting in Cairo, where they discussed the transition to the second stage of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, the Turkish state television “TRT Haber“ reported, BTA reports.
The representatives of the three countries are mediators and guarantors of the agreement between Israel and the Islamist group “Hamas“, proposed by US President Donald Trump and signed in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.
The meeting discussed Israel's violations in the Gaza Strip, which Kallen, Reshat and Al Thani said were increasing, as well as the need to increase joint efforts with the participation of the United States to move to the second phase of the agreement. Increased coordination with UN peacekeeping forces was also discussed to ensure the continuation of the ceasefire and prevent violations.
Kallen stressed that Turkey will continue to support the Palestinian people with all its capabilities.
