French President Emmanuel Macron will pay an official visit to China from December 3 to 5. He will arrive in Beijing and then head to the city of Chengdu in Sichuan province, his office said, quoted by Agence France-Presse, BTA reports.

During the visit, Macron will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, with the aim of maintaining a permanent and constructive dialogue between the two countries. Macron's previous visit to China was in April 2023, while Xi Jinping visited France last year, the Elysee Palace said.

The presidential office said the emphasis will be on bilateral cooperation and economic and trade interaction. Macron will discuss key issues related to the strategic partnership between France and China, as well as important international topics, including challenges affecting the global community. The issues will also be discussed in the context of preparations for France's presidency of the G7 next year.
