Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will visit Iran today, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced, as quoted by the "Türkiye Today".
Fidan is scheduled to meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and other high-ranking officials during the visit, BTA reports.
According to the ministry, Fidan will discuss ways to improve the institutional structure of bilateral relations within the framework of the High-Level Cooperation Council, established in 2014.
During the talks, the Turkish foreign minister is expected to emphasize the importance of strengthening security cooperation and the fight against terrorism.
The discussions will also touch on issues related to transport and connectivity, efforts to accelerate the construction and infrastructure of border trade centers, as well as the need to strengthen joint efforts to achieve the bilateral trade target of $30 billion.
