US attacks on ground targets in Colombia would constitute a declaration of war.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro said this on his social media page, commenting on US President Donald Trump's claim that Colombia could be a target for cocaine production.

Petro invited Trump to visit Colombia to participate in the liquidation of nine laboratories, “that we destroy daily to prevent cocaine from entering the United States“.

“During my administration, I have destroyed 18,400 laboratories without missiles. Come with me and I will show you how they are destroyed - one laboratory every 40 minutes. But don't threaten our sovereignty or you'll wake up the Jaguar. An attack on our sovereignty is a declaration of war. Don't destroy two centuries of diplomatic relations," he wrote.

According to him, if any country has helped stop thousands of tons of cocaine from entering the United States, it is Colombia.

Trump announced his readiness to destroy drug factories in Colombia as early as mid-November.
