Moscow and Kiev have not yet discussed a New Year's truce in the combat zone

A completely different process is underway, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said

There is still no talk of a New Year's truce in the combat zone, RIA Novosti reported, citing Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

“There is no talk yet, a completely different process is underway“, he said in response to a question about whether the Russian side would propose a New Year's truce.

The talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President's envoy Steve Witkoff and US President's son-in-law Jared Kushner ended at night in the Kremlin.

The meeting lasted over four hours. The participants discussed American proposals for resolving the conflict. Russian President's advisor Yuri Ushakov reported that no agreed peace plan was reached after the meeting. He also said the parties had agreed not to disclose details of the conversation.

The talks will continue after US representatives return to Washington, the presidential aide noted.
