US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff and the US president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, will hold a briefing with the Ukrainian negotiator on Thursday, December 4, in Miami, the New York Post reports, citing its sources.

US officials have invited Kiev's national security adviser, Rustem Umerov, to Florida, according to an unnamed senior US official.

On December 3, Russia and the US held talks in the Kremlin that lasted nearly five hours. Russian President Vladimir Putin received Witkov and Kushner in the Kremlin.

After the talks, the parties failed to reach an agreement on a compromise peace plan, with the most serious differences being on territorial issues.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for diplomatic activity in the negotiations to be “supported“ by pressure on Russia.

“Everything depends on this combination - constructive diplomacy plus pressure. Both components are aimed at peace“, he wrote on Telegram.

The Ukrainian leader confirmed that Kiev is preparing a meeting in the United States. The negotiating team includes Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Khnatov.
