The metro in the second largest Greek city of Thessaloniki is operating again from today, after being suspended for nearly a month due to tests of its extension to the eastern district of Kalamaria, Sky TV reported, quoted by BTA.
The first phase of the tests has been successfully completed and a decision has been made to return the metro to regular operation three days ahead of schedule.
The tests of the metro extension will continue without stopping transport services for citizens.
However, the replacement bus line will also be temporarily maintained. The metro in Thessaloniki was opened on November 30, 2024 after years of construction.
