A Ukrainian drone explosion destroyed the lower floors of a building in the Russian city of Tver. Seven people, including a child, were injured. Residents were evacuated, and rescuers and medics are working at the scene.
Acting Governor Vitaly Korolev said that the injured were taken to hospitals, and residents are receiving medical care. Korolev said that he had arrived at the scene of the incident and ordered all necessary support to be organized.
„Six adults and one child are already receiving medical care in the hospital. The evacuation of the building's residents is underway. I have given instructions to organize all necessary assistance. Human resources are working on the ground. I have headed to the scene of the incident. Further instructions will be given after the operational meeting at the site of the drone crash," he said.
Neighboring buildings and cars parked nearby were also damaged. Eyewitnesses reported several loud explosions and a plume of smoke visible from different parts of Tver.
Residents of the stricken building were evacuated to the street - some of them left their apartments immediately after the explosion. Local authorities are preparing temporary shelters.
“We felt a strong vibration, very strong, and it woke us up. And then there was an explosion. It hit the first floor of a neighboring apartment building. “The windows of the entire building were broken,”, a local resident told SHOT.
A series of explosions rocked the skies over Sochi and Tuapse, with air defense systems shooting down drones of the Ukrainian armed forces, SHOT reported, citing local residents.
According to eyewitnesses, at least five explosions were heard in the Lazarevsky district of Sochi and neighboring Tuapse, and flashes were visible from the Black Sea.
Aircraft sirens are currently heard on the streets of the city. A drone strike threat has also been issued in Sochi.
