Units of the Ukrainian National Guard pushed back Russian forces in Kindrashivka, Radkivka and parts of Northern Kupyansk, thus managing to block Russian supply routes and significantly stabilize the situation in the Kupyansk region, Ukrinform reported, citing its message on “Facebook“, BTA reported.
According to the statement, the stabilization operation in this region was launched by the search and strike group “Chart“, which was created by the decision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi after the escalation in the region in September this year.
“Our units broke through the Oskil River, cut off the enemy's supply route“, the statement added, noting that in the meantime the Ukrainian military has repelled attempts by Russian forces to break through the city's defenses.
Fighting continues south of the city, but the situation in the Kupyansk area remains stable with gradual progress by Ukrainian forces, Ukrinform noted.
“The next (goal) is the complete liberation of Kupyansk!“, the statement added.
Last month, the Russian army announced that it had completely captured the city - something Kiev denied. Information about the situation on the battlefield could not be independently confirmed.
