The Kremlin said today that Russia's position on deploying European troops in Ukraine is well known, TASS reported, quoted by BTA.

Reuters notes that this came amid reports in some media that the peace proposal brokered by the United States could include deploying European forces in Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia's position on any deployment of foreign troops is well known, consistent and understandable. Russia has consistently opposed the idea of such troop deployments, Reuters notes.

Peskov also said that US special envoy Steve Witkoff was not expected to visit Moscow this week. Russia expects the United States to inform Moscow about the results of the talks with Ukraine as soon as they are ready, he added.

The Kremlin spokesman said that with each new contact with Moscow, Witkoff better understands Russia's position on Ukraine.

During the regular briefing in Moscow, Peskov also answered a question about how President Vladimir Putin's working day is going.

„Putin is in the Kremlin. Most of the day will be devoted to preparing for the program „Summary of the Year with Vladimir Putin“ in a combined format - a large press conference and a direct line“ on Friday, he said.
