Ukrainian drones have attacked a tanker in the southern Russian port of Rostov-on-Don. The attack has left an unspecified number of dead and injured and a fire has broken out.
This was announced in the early hours of today by the city's mayor, quoted by Reuters and TASS.
"Operational services are extinguishing the flames on board a tanker that was damaged in a drone attack earlier while it was docked", wrote Andrey Skryabin on Telegram. "The oil spill has been successfully prevented. Alas, there are casualties and injuries."
Earlier, regional governor Yuriy Slyusar reported on Telegram about a Ukrainian strike on a ship in the port and casualties among its crew.
He added that there was also damage to a multi-storey residential building under construction in the city and two residential buildings in a neighboring settlement.
