Early this morning, Polish and allied military forces were activated to ensure the safety of Polish airspace after Russia carried out air strikes in western Ukraine, near the Polish border, the Polish armed forces reported, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.
“Fighter jets were mobilized, and ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems were put on high alert“, the operational command of the Polish armed forces wrote on the social network “Ex“.
The department specified that the measures are preventive and are aimed at ensuring the security of airspace, especially in areas adjacent to the affected regions.
