Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov announced that representatives of Russia and the United States have held talks aimed at reducing tensions in bilateral relations, but stressed that the main disagreements between the two countries have not yet been overcome. This was reported by Reuters, quoted by BTA.
According to Ryabkov, the next stage of these contacts is expected to take place in early spring, the Russian Interfax agency reported.
During the meetings, the two countries discussed possible solutions to a number of controversial issues that have affected the activities of their diplomatic missions. The talks are being held separately from the negotiations between Moscow and Washington related to the war in Ukraine, Reuters specifies.
