Working group on draft law on elections during martial law meets in Kiev

Its creation was approved by the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk on December 23

Today, the first meeting of the working group, which is preparing a draft law on elections during martial law, will be held in Ukraine, the chairman of the group, First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Kornienko, told Interfax-Ukraine.

The online meeting will start at 1:00 p.m. Kyiv time.

The meeting will be divided into two sections, the first of which will focus on organizational issues. The second section will feature representatives of the Central Election Commission: “The CEC members will prepare an overview presentation in which they will raise all the problems that exist both in elections during martial law and in post-war elections.“

According to Kornienko, the working group includes approximately 60 members: representatives of all parliamentary groups in the Verkhovna Rada, key public organizations, the executive branch, and law enforcement agencies.
