The famous American investor Jim Rogers has expressed potential interest in the international assets of the Russian oil and gas company Lukoil.

Rogers emphasized in an interview with RIA Novosti that he would not buy the assets blindly, but is ready to study them in detail. The decision will depend on pricing conditions.

Jim Rogers, co-founder of Quantum Fund with George Soros, is known for his successful global investment strategies.

On December 16, Reuters reported that Saudi company Midad Energy had emerged as one of the leading bidders for Lukoil's international assets.

On December 12, Politico reported that Brian Lanza, a former senior adviser to US President Donald Trump, had become an advisor to Lukoil's international division on the sale of its international assets.

According to a source familiar with the matter, Lanza is "working on the sale of assets to US investment bank Xtellus Partners," which has offered a cashless share swap.
