French people's trust in President Emmanuel Macron has fallen to its lowest levels since he took office.

This was reported by DPA, quoted by BNR, citing a new survey. According to the survey by the sociological agency "Toluna-Harris Interactive" and "ELSE News", only 25% of respondents indicated that they trust Macron to implement good policies for France.

A total of 1,099 people participated in the survey, which was conducted on December 22 and 23.

Trust in Macron was highest in his initial period as president, as well as during the coronavirus pandemic. According to "Toluna-Harris Interactive", at that time, more than 50% of the French people trusted him.

Dozens of people were detained after throwing smoke bombs and pyrotechnics in the center of Paris, French media reported, quoted by DPA and BTA.

The group was reportedly arrested on the famous "Trocadero" square, near the Eiffel Tower in the French capital.

According to BFM TV, law enforcement officers intervened after the fireworks were spotted on security camera footage. About 40 people were reportedly detained.

According to the newspaper "Parisien", no one was injured in the incident.

The police have launched an investigation, BFMTV reported.
