Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic congratulated the Serbs in Kosovo for the "courage and unity they showed in the snap parliamentary elections", which were held yesterday in the former southern province of the Republic of Serbia, Serbian national television RTS and BTA reported.
„I congratulate the brave people, regardless of what the machines of (Kosovo Prime Minister Albin) Kurti and everyone else will ultimately do with them. These are brave people, these are true heroes and I believe that they deserve additional and greater help and support from the state of Serbia“, Vučić said during a tour of the construction works on part of the Danube Corridor.
“The Serbs in Kosovo know that we are always with them, just as we know that they are always with Serbia and their people, and always on the side of Serbia“, said the Serbian president.
The largest party of Kosovo Serbs “Serbian List“ announced last night that it is receiving all 10 seats in the Kosovo parliament reserved for Serbian MPs, following early parliamentary elections in Kosovo held yesterday.
The Republic of Kosovo is a former southern province of Serbia that declared its independence in 2008, but Serbia refuses to recognize it.
Belgrade and Pristina are conducting a dialogue under the auspices of the EU to normalize relations between the two countries.
