Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has told EU leaders that fighting US President Donald Trump is a bad idea.
Meloni said this during a closed-door meeting in Brussels, "Politico" reported, citing four sources.
She urged calm and not to portray Trump as crazy or unpredictable.
Speaking after the summit, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen expressed hope that European leaders had learned their lesson this week that confronting Trump in a "firm" but "non-escalating" way is an effective strategy that they should continue.
