The US military has struck a ship believed to be carrying drugs in the eastern Pacific, the US Southern Command said.

“Intelligence has confirmed that the ship was traveling on known drug smuggling routes in the eastern Pacific and was being used for drug trafficking“, said a statement posted on the command's website in X.

Two people died in the attack, one survived. As a result, the command “notified the Coast Guard to activate its search and rescue system“.
