Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has warned that the forced displacement of more than two million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip would lead to the arrival of hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants in Europe, local media reported, quoted by BTA.

During a speech on Police Day, al-Sisi said that despite the ceasefire agreement, Israel continues a campaign of "systemic violence against Palestinians in their occupied lands", which is "categorically rejected by Egypt".

"I warn that the displacement of nearly two and a half million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, which would mean the liquidation of the Palestinian cause, would inevitably bring hundreds of thousands to Europe and Western countries with grave consequences for security, economy and social problems that no country could endured," the Egyptian president said.

He stressed the need for continued access to humanitarian aid in Gaza and full implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Palestinian radical movement "Hamas".

Egypt defines as a "red line" the displacement of Palestinians from their lands, even in the form of temporary resettlement.

In addition, Cairo is seeking support for its efforts to deal with illegal migrants and their passage to Europe. According to the latest data, the country is hosting over nine million foreign citizens due to regional crises. The largest share among them are citizens of Sudan, Syria, Yemen and Libya.
