Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova criticized the European Union's decision to completely ban the import of Russian liquefied natural gas.
She emphasized that with this move, Europeans have "given up their freedom".
"It is difficult to say for sure yet: whether they are happy vassals or unhappy slaves - time will tell. But either way, they have given up their freedom," the diplomat summed up to "Zvezda" TV.
Earlier today, the European Council announced the official approval of the ban on the import of Russian liquefied natural gas. The complete ban will come into effect from the beginning of 2027, while Russian pipeline gas will be completely banned from the fall of 2027.
