US President Donald Trump said that an armada of American ships is heading to Iran and expressed hope that Tehran will agree to a deal.

“By the way, there is another beautiful armada heading to Iran right now, so we will see. I hope they agree to a deal“, he said, speaking to residents of Iowa.

On Monday, the US president said that the situation with Iran remains unstable, but did not reveal any plans regarding the Islamic Republic. As Axios reported, citing White House officials, Trump still allows for the possibility of a military attack on Iran, even though protests in that country have now been “largely suppressed“.

Last Thursday, the US Central Command confirmed the arrival of the aircraft carrier “Abraham Lincoln“ in its area of responsibility in the Indian Ocean. According to the “New York Times“, the aircraft carrier may be ready to strike Iran within one to two days.

US President Donald Trump said yesterday that "Cuba is going bankrupt soon", citing that Venezuela, once the island's largest supplier, has not recently sent oil and money to the Caribbean country, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

Boldened by the detention of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro by the US military in an operation earlier this month on Trump's orders, the Republican leader said he would take action against Havana and put pressure on the country's leadership. Trump promised to cut off oil and money supplies to Cuba from its long-time supporter - Venezuela.

"Cuba is going bankrupt soon. Cuba is a country that is very close to bankruptcy," Trump told reporters. "You know, they got their money from Venezuela. They got their oil from Venezuela. They don't get any of that anymore," the US president added.

Trump has said Washington will "manage" Venezuela, where Maduro's former vice president, Delcy Rodriguez, has become interim president and is running the country under US supervision. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has said the US operation that captured Maduro is a violation of international law. And human rights experts say Trump's focus on Venezuelan oil is an imperialist approach and calls into question US efforts to portray Maduro's capture as a law enforcement measure to curb drug trafficking.

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said this month that Washington does not have the moral right to impose a deal on Cuba after Trump suggested the communist island could make a deal with the US.
