Former US President Joe Biden took home only two diplomatic gifts he received during his presidency.

These are the remains of a plane given to him by Papua New Guinean Prime Minister James Marape, and cufflinks given to the US president by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Bloomberg reported, citing a State Department document.

Marape gave Biden the remains of a Douglas A-20 Havoc bomber - the same model flown by the US president's uncle, Ambrose Finnegan, before it crashed off the coast of New Guinea in 1944

The American leader thanked his colleague for the “incredible gift“ and noted that Papua New Guinea “has a special meaning“ to his family.
