According to US President Donald Trump, the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict is "going very well".
"We are doing very well with Ukraine and Russia. I am saying this for the first time", he told reporters at an event at the White House.
According to the Republican, the UN is "somewhat involved" in the settlement process.
Trump stressed that under his administration the US will not send financial aid to Ukraine, as his predecessor Joe Biden did. He recalled that instead the United States sells weapons to the EU and NATO at full price, which are then sent to Ukraine.
A new round of trilateral talks on Ukraine is scheduled for February 4-5. It was originally scheduled for Sunday, February 1. The Kremlin cited a “mismatch in the schedules between the three parties“ as the reason for the postponement.
Italian President Sergio Mattarella called for an Olympic truce during the games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, ANSA reported.
Mattarella was speaking at the 145th session of the International Olympic Committee.
