Paris prosecutors have summoned Facebook owner Elon Musk and former CEO Linda Iaccarino to appear for questioning in April in connection with an investigation into the social media platform, French prosecutors said, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.

Searches are being conducted today at Facebook's French offices as part of an investigation that began in January 2025. The operation is being carried out by the prosecutor's office's cybercrime unit with the support of Europol and the specialized cyber unit of the French police.

The platform has not yet made an official comment on the case.

According to the prosecutor's office, the investigation was initiated following a signal from a member of parliament who claimed that the algorithms of "Ex" had been manipulated, changing the functioning of an automated data processing system.

At the same time, the French prosecutor's office announced that it would stop using "Ex" for official communications and would address the media through "LinkedIn" and "Instagram", owned by "Microsoft" and "Meta", respectively.
