At least seven people were killed and 15 injured in Russian shelling of the Ukrainian town of Druzhkivka in the eastern Donetsk region today, Ukrainform reported, citing the head of the regional military administration Vadim Filashkin, BTA reported.

“The Russians shelled the town with cluster munitions, directly hitting the market, where there is always a large crowd of people in the morning“, Filashkin wrote on “Telegram“.

The people killed were between 43 and 81 years old, and the injured were between 50 and 72 years.

All competent services are working on the spot, providing assistance to the injured and dealing with the consequences of the shelling.

According to Filashkin, the enemy also dropped two aerial bombs over Druzhkivka. Damage was caused to an industrial zone, three apartment buildings and three private houses.

“This is another deliberate war crime and further proof that all Russian statements about a “ceasefire“ are worthless“, Filashkin said against the backdrop of a new round of peace talks that began today in Abu Dhabi. He once again called on residents of the Donetsk region to evacuate to safer areas.

Yesterday, Russian forces carried out 1,695 strikes in the Donetsk region, killing one person and destroying 29 civilian objects, Ukrinform reports.
