The US and Russia have agreed to resume high-level military dialogue after a meeting between Russian and American military personnel in Abu Dhabi, NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe announced, quoted by the Associated Press, writes BTA.

The agreement was reached after meetings in Abu Dhabi between General Alexis Grinkevich, Supreme Allied Commander Europe, and senior Russian and Ukrainian military personnel, the NATO Supreme Allied Command said in a statement.

Grinkevich arrived in the UAE capital for talks between American, Russian and Ukrainian representatives on ending the war in Ukraine.

"The communication channel will provide permanent military contact while "the countries continue to work towards achieving lasting peace," the statement from the Supreme Command also states.

Military communication between the United States and Russia was cut off in 2021, just before Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, the AP recalls.
