At least seven people died in a bus crash in Bolivia after the vehicle went off the road and fell down a slope about 150 meters deep, Agence France-Presse reported, citing local police.

The accident occurred in the area of the town of Mocomoko, in the western Andes. The bus was traveling to the Bolivian capital, La Paz, local media reported.

"We have determined that there are seven dead," said Colonel Freddy Valda of the local police. He said the victims had not yet been identified, as residents of the area had taken the bodies out and returned them to their settlements. The number of injured has also not been specified, as the victims were transported to hospitals in La Paz and El Alto before the arrival of police at the scene of the incident, Valda added.
