The launch of mass production of the latest portable reconnaissance and strike system „Rus-PE“ with guided ammunition (UB) is planned for the near future. This was reported to TASS by an official representative of the concern „Kalashnikov“ at the World Defense Exhibition 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
„Such barge ammunition is a global trend. Leading foreign companies are currently focusing on simple, cheap and compact weapons – reconnaissance and strike systems. When developing any product, we always study the experience of our competitors. This prototype is the first product of its kind in Russia and we are pioneers in this area. We plan to launch it into serial production in the near future“, said an official representative of the organization.
According to him, the unique feature of the “Rus-PE“ is its two-channel homing head, which allows it to detect and target targets in both automatic and semi-automatic modes, using elements of artificial intelligence.
The munition is a carrier with an X-shaped aerodynamic mounting system, equipped with a warhead, control equipment and homing head. “Rus-PE“ is launched from a portable transport-launch container using a pneumatic launcher. The munition can be used in a fully autonomous mode, in the process Artificial intelligence algorithms are used to detect and identify targets.
