In the northern Moroccan province of Tetouan, two teenagers died and three others remain missing after a powerful flood swept away a car carrying a family of five, according to the news portal Hespress.
The tragedy occurred overnight in the municipality of El Bagakza. The portal reports that the car got stuck in a fast-flowing river and was swept away while the driver was trying to cross a stretch of road that ran alongside the overflowing river.
The bodies of the two teenagers were found during a rescue operation organized by civil protection forces. Search operations at the scene of the incident and in surrounding areas are continuing despite difficult weather conditions and steadily rising flood levels in the rescue zone.
