Turkey exports $262 billion. It exports the most to Germany and the US, here's where Bulgaria ranks

Turkey exported $261.8 billion abroad in 2024, according to data from the World's Top Exports website, BTA reported.

The data shows that the largest share in Turkish exports is held by European countries, which are Turkey's largest trading partners and markets in the world. The share of European countries in Turkey's exports amounts to 57.1 percent of the country's total exports. In comparison, Asia with 24.8 percent, Africa with 8.3 percent and the United States with 6.2 percent are far behind among trading partners.

In the top 25 trading partners of Turkey, for which Turkish exports account for 70.9 percent of total exports in 2024, the first place is occupied by Germany, to which Turkey exported $20.4 billion in 2024. Germany's share in Turkish exports is 7.8 percent.

The United States imported goods from Turkey worth $16.4 billion, which represents a share of 6.2 percent.

The United Kingdom is Turkey's third largest trading partner with 5.8 percent of exports, which is equal to $15.3 billion. It is stated that exports to the United Kingdom in 2024 increased by 22.7 percent compared to the previous year. Italy, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Romania, Poland follow.

Bulgaria is in 13th place on the list, with $5.1 billion in imports from Turkey. Bulgaria is followed by Greece with $4.8 billion and Belgium with $4.4 billion.

There is a decline in Turkish exports to Russia in 2024 compared to the previous year. Goods worth $8.56 billion were exported to Russia, but this is 21.4 percent less than in 2023.

Among Turkey's major trading partners are Iraq, Egypt, which in 2024 recorded a 24.6 percent growth compared to the previous year, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Iran, China, and Ukraine.
