Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew invited to Ankara by Erdogan for an official dinner

The meeting will also be attended by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Economy of Turkey and Greece

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will visit Ankara today to attend a dinner organized at the Presidential Palace in honor of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who will pay an official visit to Turkey, reports ANA-MPA agency. The invitation to the Ecumenical Patriarch was extended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, ANA-MPA specified, BTA reported.

According to a statement from the Ecumenical Patriarchate, during his short visit to Ankara, Bartholomew will be accompanied by Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon. The two will return to the headquarters of the Ecumenical Patriarchate late in the evening.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will co-chair the sixth meeting of the Turkish-Greek High-Level Cooperation Council today. The meeting will also be attended by the foreign and economic ministers of Turkey and Greece, as well as members of the cabinets. The previous such meeting took place in the Greek capital in 2023 and led to the adoption of the so-called Athens Declaration.
