Minister without portfolio responsible for international economic cooperation in the Serbian government Nenad Popovic said today that he had a conversation in Russia with the Minister of Economy of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov and received confirmation that Serbia will have the most favorable price for gas and sufficient quantities of gas until the end of 2026, RTS reports, BTA reported.

Popovic pointed out that there are "technically quite complicated conditions" in the upcoming signing of the contract.

"Serbia will receive the most favorable conditions (from the Russian side) and we are assured for this year as well, and I am sure for the next period, that is, in the coming years", Popovic told RTS.

The CEO of “Serbiagaz“ Dušan Bayatović said a few days ago that the contract for the supply of Russian gas, which expires at the end of March, will probably be extended by another six months, the TANJUG news agency reported.

Bayatović said that the price of gas for households will not be changed, and that Serbia has sufficient quantities until the end of the heating season.

He also said that the long-term gas supply contract that Serbia has with Russia is being extended through separate annexes, but that there are many problems with it, such as European sanctions and problems with payment transactions, which, according to him, are not so easy to solve.
