Rutte calls on Ukraine to receive only weapons recommended by NATO

No need to send Kiev "unnecessary weapons for the sake of media coverage, believes the Secretary General of the Alliance

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has called on all Western countries to supply Ukraine only with weapons recommended by NATO and not to send “unnecessary weapons“ for the sake of media coverage.

“The Supreme Allied Commander Europe, together with the Ukrainians, has drawn up a list of the weapons they need. There is no need to deliver bilateral weapons that are not on this list, no matter how good this may look in the media. NATO knows exactly what it needs first“, Rutte said, speaking at the Munich Security Conference.
