Eleven people were injured during a carnival in the Swiss village of Chable, in the canton of Valais, in the southwest of the country, when an explosion occurred in a vehicle with a confetti cannon, Agence France-Presse reported, citing local police.
According to Swiss public broadcaster RTS, the explosion appeared to be an accidental event - it was caused by the air compressor of the confetti cannon.
"The explosion took place shortly before 3 p.m. (4 p.m. Bulgarian time) on the platform on which the confetti cannon was being transported", said a police statement quoted by AFP.
The eleven injured were examined by medics on site, and then admitted to hospitals in the region, police added.
