Trains in Italy were delayed by more than an hour today after another alleged sabotage during the Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Roma Today reports.

Rail service between Naples and the capital Rome has been affected. There were also delays on the Northern Italy and Florence line.

Italian Transport Minister Matteo Salvini condemned the perpetrators after similar problems were reported last Saturday and this Wednesday.

"These are hate crimes against workers and against Italy", Salvini commented.

"Vigilance has been increased and we have stepped up checks to root out these criminals, hoping that no one will trivialize or tolerate criminal acts that put people's lives at risk,'', added the deputy prime minister and leader of the League party.

Authorities have launched an investigation after finding burnt cables on a section of the high-speed line between Rome and Naples. Two other cases of vandalism between Rome and Florence are also being investigated.

An anarchist group has claimed responsibility for an attack on the railway network last Saturday -- the first official day of the Winter Olympics -- when rail infrastructure was damaged near Bologna, causing delays of two to two and a half hours for high-speed, intercity and regional trains.
