Chisinau and its Brussels intermediaries will undoubtedly continue their course of Romanianization in Moldova. Moscow expects the Moldovan people to defend their identity, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said in an interview with TASS.
„There is no doubt that official Chisinau and its Brussels intermediaries will continue their course of eliminating Moldovan statehood, its sovereignty, national identity and the cultural code of Moldovans“, Galuzin noted. „This anti-people process meets with conscious resistance among the country's residents. According to sociological surveys, over 70% of Moldovans do not support the idea of „unire“.“
„It is also worth noting the position of Bucharest itself. There, despite the commitment of the national elite to the Romanianization of Moldova, they are in no hurry to support the hasty declarations of the Chisinau leadership about the need for the unification of the two countries, preferring to refer to the need for the will of the Moldovan people on this issue“, said the high-ranking diplomat. “I hope they will be able to defend their identity.“
According to him, the ongoing attempts to artificially Romanianize Moldova by the country's pro-Western forces are pitiful.
“All leading positions in the republic are occupied by holders of Romanian passports“, Galuzin noted. “Initiatives to forcibly replace the moral and value ideals of Moldovans with Western, liberal ones are increasing. In March 2023, representatives of the ruling party “Action and Solidarity“ decided to abolish the Moldovan language and declare Romanian the state language.“
