China will introduce visa-free travel for holders of ordinary Canadian and British passports starting from February 17, 2026. This was announced in a statement by the official spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Citizens of these countries will be able to enter China without a visa for stays of up to 30 days. This permission applies to travel for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, exchange and transit.
The change will be in effect on a trial basis until December 31, 2026.
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that this decision was made to further facilitate exchanges between citizens of the three countries and is in implementation of the agreements reached during the visits of the leaders of Canada and the United Kingdom to China.
