The Peace Council will cooperate with the UN in certain situations, US President Donald Trump told reporters.

“I think they can help us a little. The greatest world leaders join the Peace Council and we will cooperate with the UN in certain situations“, he told reporters on board his plane during a flight from Florida to Washington. The head of state did not specify the range of issues on which the two organizations plan to cooperate.

Earlier, the spokesman for the UN Secretary-General Stephane Dujarric said that representatives of the world organization had not received an invitation to participate in the Peace Council meeting, which will be held on February 19 in Washington. Dujarric added that the UN plans to coordinate its activities with the Peace Council through its deputy special coordinator for the Middle East, Ramiz Alakbarov.

The US president said he "could" be involved in resolving the dispute between Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

He denied to reporters that he was involved in improving relations between the two Middle Eastern countries. "No, I'm not involved in that," Trump replied.

"I could. Well, I can resolve that very easily. They have differences and we can resolve them very easily," the US president added.
